one of those guilt watching saved by the bell A vibrant ’80s fashion statement and colorful wardrobe selection for Zack Morris, AC Slater, Kelly Kapowski, Jessie Spano, Screech Powers and Lisa Turtle. For example, main character Lisa Turtle’s resident fashionista rocked one crazy outfit after another in the fourth season of the beloved sitcom.
Of course, there is a big difference between style and function. While the main cast wore costumes that would probably go unnoticed today, they also had some silly costume choices. The worst is saved by the bellsuch things are the most troublesome.
Tori .’s leather jacket
While her outfit choices are understandably meant to accentuate her rebellious cycling lifestyle, Tori’s (Leanna Creel) overbearing leather jacket is still rather impractical.
Tori is a bit slow to adjust to her new surroundings, and in the sunny Los Angeles weather where Bayside High School is located, she doesn’t need a heavy leather jacket at all. Her coat is just to look good, not to keep warm in the already hot climate.
cheering dress
While opposing the misogynistic nature of the modern cheerleader uniform, Jesse was right to rally his friends to promote radical change. However, her wish turned into a logistical nightmare.
Jessie, Kelly, and Lisa all wore extra-long cheerleading dresses that went all the way down to their shoes as they granted their wishes. The bulky uniforms really hindered the girls’ ability to perform choreography with the right agility and flexibility.
screaming denim
In the iconic “Drugs Hopeless” episode, Scream made a very outlandish outfit choice while attending Johnny Dakota’s lavish Hollywood party.
Playing an actor with the intention of getting the attention of Hollywood bigwigs, Scrigge donned a brown tassel suede jacket and cowboy hat out of curiosity, which he thought would make a great first impression. Screaming is more awkward than ever, barely moving in his mummy-like shroud, and his ability to party is affected by that.
Zac .’s native hat
In “Zack on the Run”, Zack’s immodest Native American attire is impractical, even to the point of arrogance. While it was obvious that he would try harder to do well in class, he simply didn’t need to wear such an aggressive outfit.
The cultural fit includes a large feather hat, which looks very heavy and uncomfortable to wear. According to electronic warfareMark-Paul Gosselaar has apologized for the 2016 episode’s corny plot.
Lisa’s Rainbow Shoulder Pads
Lisa Turtle’s fashion sense on the catwalk often stands out with an exaggerated combination of pastel colors and soft materials. Of all the characters, she always seems to be overdressed and most impractical for the occasion.
A good example is the black dress with wide, iridescent shoulder pads that resemble swim floats. Lisa wore this outfit twice on the show, both for high-profile events. She wore it to Jesse’s father’s wedding and the infamous Murder House. It didn’t help that Sherlock’s hound stood up amid the screams.
disguise
Their costumes are quite illogical when the group has to perform in a masquerade at a school dance during the premiere of season three.
Of most interest is Zach’s Romeo outfit, featuring a beige bodysuit and an oversized Seinfeld puffer shirt. How will Zach break hard rock in this suit? Kylie’s Juliet dress was perfect, while Jesse and Slater sang love songs in Marc Anthony and Cleopatra’s costumes instead of Zack.
screaming beach clothes
Scrooge has never been on the cutting edge of fashion, but in Haute Cut Days, when the group goes to the beach, the outfits he wears are impractical, to the point of madness.
First, while everyone around was barefoot or wearing sandals, Scream was wearing rainbow socks and red Converse All-Stars high heels. Not to be outdone, Scrigge also has a sling attached to his vest to support his shorts, making it nearly impossible for him to swim. The highlight is that the old woman’s hat is lowered so it doesn’t block the sun at all.
Lisa’s camouflage mini dress
In “The Fabulous Belding Boys”, Mr. Belding’s great brother Rod acts as a substitute for Zack and the group. He scores his students by arranging river rafting trips.
In preparation for the trip, Lisa Turtle felt compelled to wear a high camouflage mini dress with matching shirt, gloves and jewelry accessories. Even more strangely, she also has a square Louis Vuitton bag and a pair of non-athletic flats. Despite her overall beauty, she seems to be the least prepared for hiking/rafting.
screaming hula skirt
In the show’s “Aloha Slater” episode, Zach concocts a plan to ensure that Slater moves to Hawaii with his father and leaves Bayside High School forever. At Slater’s lavish farewell party, Scrridge wore an uncomfortable and ill-fitting, impractical hula dress.
Though this is the result of Zack’s compulsion rather than Scrigge’s decision, Scrigge wears a pointless hula dress, a large fruit bowl on his head, and a pineapple bra. Not coconut but pineapple. Not only is it extremely uncomfortable, but it also lacks the signature hula dresses that Kylie, Jesse, and Lisa wear.
spandex
No matter how precise this costume is for a ballerina, AC Slater shouldn’t or needs to wear these super tight spandex leotards for his legendary ballet performance on Erath. The obvious fit was chosen to highlight Mario Lopez’s great physique.
In Breaking Up Is Hard, Slater vows to prove he’s got more on his mind than football. When Slater showed off his ballet skills in front of Max’s Jesse and Kelly, for some reason, Slater stripped off his clothes to reveal a professional tight-fitting black jumpsuit just like he was. Miha Like Il Baryshnikov.
