Scarlett Johansson admitted that her son Cosmo’s latest life phase is affecting her.
During the conversation with Party tonightthe actress was asked if she deals with “terrible twos,” to which the Marvel star replied, “‘Terrible Twos’ is more like tackling me, actually, physically.”
At Monday’s God’s Love We Deliver’s Heart of Gold Awards, the mother of two said parenting her toddler son has “definitely been an adjustment” since her husband, Colin Jost, returned to Saturday night live after the WGA strike ended.

“It’s definitely an adjustment in the household.” The 38-year-old actress explained: “That schedule is so crazy, but it’s always exciting to see.”
A beaming Johansson shared her excitement for the show’s return: “I’m really excited for all the writers and all the performers on SNL. They were desperate to get back to work doing what they love.”
She continued to applaud her husband’s costars and SNL writing staff, “These guys are amazing. And we need them now more than ever.”

When Johansson worked on Wes Anderson’s film, asteroid city, the couple’s son was still a baby, and the mother would bring Cosmo to the set.
“I wasn’t really popular, it was just a baby,” Johansson told PEOPLE. “People were excited to see the baby, not me. They said, ‘Oh, it’s you. Where’s the baby?’ ”
The actress revealed that her family used to hang out with her in between shoots. “My family came [with me to set],” she recalled to PEOPLE, adding, “My husband and the baby did because we just had a little baby.”
“Some people had partners who showed up,” Johansson continued. “I think most people were alone. Many people also had children, but maybe a little older.”
“I just had a tiny, tiny baby,” she said, adding that Cosmo was like a “set up baby.”

In September on The Kelly Clarkson ShowJohansson shared the meaning of the name Cosmo and the special connection between the nickname and the name of her 8-year-old daughter, Rose Dorothy.
“They’re both flowers,” Johansson told Clarkson. “Not many people make that connection. Cosmo is a really cute little flower that comes in different shades of orange and yellow.” She added: “That’s why my daughter liked it too.”

While Johansson recently joked about struggling with her two-year-old son, she previously admitted that when raising her daughter Rose, the toddler phase proved to be a challenge back in 2017.

“It’s really hard,” she said. “I remember telling my daughter when she was 2, ‘This is great. I don’t know what everyone’s talking about.’ And then she turns 3 and it’s like being in an emotionally abusive relationship.”
“It’s just so intense. No explanation,” Johansson continued. “Very intense emotional swings and stuff, so commanding and steadfast, and it’s just crazy,” adding that it’s “up and down all the time.”
The black Widow the star shares daughter Rose with her ex Romain Dauriac, whom she divorced in 2017.
Johansson and Jost became engaged in May 2019 after two years of dating, and married in an intimate ceremony in October 2020. The couple welcomed their first child together, son Cosmo, in August 2021.
