Chennai Schools Closed Tomorrow: Schools and colleges in Chennai will remain closed tomorrow, December 8, 2024. The holiday has been announced as per the official order of Tamil Nadu Government. This is the fifth consecutive day of closure of schools in the municipality. The decision to close the schools was taken in view of the flood-like situation in Chennai.
Many areas in Chennai are facing floods, landslides and other problems due to Cyclone Michaung and incessant rainfall. In view of this, the state government has issued annual leave for educational institutions in Chennai. Students and parents are advised to pay attention to the published notice. Students and parents have also been advised to contact school authorities regarding online classes and other updates.
Tamil Nadu mid-term exams postponed
The Tamil Nadu Education Department has postponed the mid-term examinations in Chennai and other districts affected by floods and Cyclone Michaung. The exams scheduled for December 7, 2024 are postponed. However, the government gave the schools the authority to conduct the exams according to the new schedule after taking into account the situation in the region.
The state government has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram and Chengalpettu areas for today, December 7, 2023. The districts have been hit by severe floods as a result of Cyclone Michaung. Schools and colleges in six talukas namely – Pallavaram, Tambara,. Vandalur, Tiruporur, Chengalpettu and Thirukazhukundram were closed today.
