School Holidays in Tamil Nadu: According to local reports, schools in Puducherry and Karaikal district will remain closed on December 4, 2023. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students from Cyclone ‘Michaung’. In case of any questions or ambiguities, parents and students must contact the school authorities.

It must be noted that so far there has been no official confirmation of school holidays in Tamil Nadu. There are chances that the closure of schools will be announced so that the authorities do not risk the lives of students.

School holidays in Tamil Nadu: IMD issues orange alert for Chennai and neighboring regions

Cyclone Michaung is forming over the Bay of Bengal. Some areas are affected due to waterlogging, which ultimately results in traffic jams and other hindrances. Also, IMD has issued an orange alert for Chennai and adjoining areas for December 2 and 3, 2023.

Eighteen teams remain available for Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Puducherry, while another ten teams are expected to be ready soon. Cyclone Michaung is expected to move west-northwestward, strengthen into a depression on December 2, and then move over the southwest Bay of Bengal into a cyclonic storm on December 3.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Parents or students can keep checking this page for latest updates about school holidays in Tamil Nadu.
