Charles & Harry’s relationship ‘beyond repair’ as BBC names King as royal in ‘racism’ row just before landmark speech

RELATIONS between Charles and Harry were said last night to be damaged beyond repair amid the collapse of the royal race.

An hour before the king addressed world leaders on climate, the BBC cited him as one of two members of the royal family who reportedly asked Meghan about the color of the Sussexes’ first-born child, Archie.

The claim was made in Dutch translations of the discredited book Endgame by Omid Scobie.

Charles looked visibly tired at the COP28 summit in Dubai and his doctor was rarely far from him.

Just 55 minutes before the speech, at 7.36am, the BBC named him and Kate as Princess of Wales – despite previously saying they would not join the news outlets in mentioning them.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun last night: “This could not have come at a worse time in Charles’ career.

“This was the speech he’s been waiting five decades to give, but all everyone’s talking about is baseless claims of racism.

“Charles and Harry’s relationship was at an all-time low before, but this may have broken it beyond repair.

“It could be game over for them.”

Hopes of a reconciliation were raised after Harry called Charles last month to wish him a happy 75th birthday and sent a video of the king’s grandchildren Archie, now four, and Lilibet, two, who live in the US.

Mr Fitzwilliams added: “We thought there was a chance to thaw their relationship.

“There’s no way now.

“I can’t see the monarchy ever trusting Harry again.”

Meghan and Harry have not commented on Endgame or the aftermath.

The names are listed in the Dutch copies of the book, not the English, in the context of Meghan’s letter to the king.

Buckingham Palace is understood to be exploring all options.

Meanwhile, The Daily Telegraph reported that it has spoken to sources close to Meghan who say she never intended Charles or Kate to be identified.

The source also denied that Meghan gave names to Scobie.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “I think everyone is bored with this book.

“People get angry.

“It’s a poison pen abomination.

“When the plot wears off, after a day or two, people are sick of it.

“The royals rise above it.

“They don’t listen to the chatter.

“If they did, they would go crazy.

“Meghan didn’t say anything.

“Charles has back-to-back meetings and is probably very tired.

“He can’t do anything.

“They will ask their advisers to sort it out.”
