Scott Wolf Reveals the Biggest Celeb Party of Five Fan He Ever Met

Scott Wolf is grateful for the influence Party of five left on fans — including other celebrities he (literally) looks up to.

During a Tuesday, January 7, appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s daytime talk show of the same name to promote his new Fox medical drama Assoc. speaks about thisThe 56-year-old actor has opened up about the moment the A-list star asked to meet him at a party, leaving him shocked by the show’s ratings.

“The craziest thing was when Party of five he was still on,” Wolf told Shepherd, 57, of the encounter. “I was at an event, I don’t know what it was — like an event in Los Angeles — and somebody said, ‘Hey, somebody’s here and they want to tell you they like the show.’ ”

Wolf said he was thrilled to meet the fan, but things changed when he actually met the person.

“I said, ‘Oh, that’s cool,’ and I got hit on the shoulder, and I turned around and was looking at my waist,” the actor said, describing the person’s height.

“I’m like, ‘Oh, they stayed up there,'” he continued, adding, “And that was Shaq!”

Both Wolf and Shepherd enjoyed the fact that 15-time NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed watching Party of five.

According to Wolf, the former professional athlete, 52, told him he was a “huge fan of the show.” Wolf described the moment as “the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life.”

“So to hear that from people that I look up to, not just because he was 9-foot-9, that’s really cool when that happens,” Wolf said with a laugh.

Party of five it lasted from 1994 to 2000.

In addition to Wolf’s role as Bailey, the series also stars Neve Campbell (Julia Salinger), Michael Goorjian (Justin Thompson), Matthew Fox (Charlie), Lacey Chabert (Claudia) and Jacob Smith (baby Owen).

The Fox drama followed the five Salinger siblings who were forced to live alone after their parents were killed in a car accident.

“The whole point of telling stories like this, as part of shows, is you want them to be important to people,” Wolf told Shepherd, adding that “25 years later” fans still reach out to him “as if they were watching last week.”

The original cast has remained close throughout the years, Wolf revealed.

“It’s funny, Michael Goorjian, who played Justin, is our kids’ godfather,” Campbell, 51, told PEOPLE in May 2024, referring to her partner JJ Feild and her former co-star. “He’s one of our best friends. So we’ve stayed very close.”

She also shared that she recently attended Chabert’s 40th birthday party.
