They added that the neighbor’s son gave Persy CPR as she lay with stab wounds, and emergency services rushed to the horrific scene.
Following her tragic death, Persy’s family pay emotional tributes.
They wrote: “It is with immense pain that we say goodbye to Perseverance Ncuba, who is also known to her loved ones as Percy.
“She was a loving and devoted mother who lived for her children, family and friends.
“Percy was an active member of her church and created a wonderful community for herself and her children.
“Percy just celebrated her 35th birthday in October and her death has left us with an immense sense of loss.
“We are now focused on supporting her children as they continue their journey without their mother.
“With love from Percy’s family.”
Residents of the street also said the brutal killing had shaken the community as they paid tribute to an “incredible soul”.
One told the Manchester Evening News: “She was lovely, kept aloof. It’s so sad, so horrible. Poor children – Christmas and no mum.”
Another posted on Facebook: “Rest in peace my beautiful friend.
“I know your children will be well taken care of. I cried many tears today because of you, you were the life and soul of everything, may God protect you up in heaven, I will cherish all our memories.”
