The main search for the finding of the missing sisters – which are originally from Hungary – was launched – with extensive tests performed on the Dee River.

The first body was found yesterday morning in water near Aberdeen Boat Club.

Just a few hours later, the body of another woman was found in Rijeka near Victoria Bridge.

Although both women are still formally identified, Eliza and Henrietta family has been informed.

The double tragedy came just four days after the police encouraged their searches of the Dee and Luka River.

Police say their investigation is still ongoing, but they do not believe there are suspicious circumstances about death.

Superintendent David Howieson said: “Our thoughts remain with the Huszti family and we are constantly updating them after these recovery.

“We know how much impact he had in Aberdeen and much further and I would like to thank everyone who helped in our investigation.”

The spokesman for the Scottish police added: “The body of another woman was recovered from the Dee River in Aberdeen on Friday, January 31, 2025.

“Officers found the body in the Rijeka area near Victoria Bridge around 21.05, and after that it was recovered.

The disappearance of twins caused a huge effort to find them, and police divers, drones, dogs, helicopters and coastal guards were called.

They left the Aberdeen and CCTV shots caught walking along the street.

Both sisters were seen moving in the Aberdeen Boat Club direction and were noticed on the Victoria Bridge at about 2.12 in the morning.

The police failed to find any explanation why women went to an unusual place in the Torry area because temperatures dropped below zero.

The steep unpaved path was covered with ice at the time and difficult to deal with even in daylight.

Eliza and Henrietta, originally from Hungary, arrived in the UK six years ago and have been working in Aberdeen since then.

The girls are part of the trio set, along with her sister Edit, who said she had talked to her sisters on New Year’s Eve.

They also have a brother Jozsef, who said about his care for the accommodation of the couple.

Several aspects of the case confused friends and relatives.

It turned out that Henrietta sent the text to their landlady at 2.12 in the morning, saying that they would not return to the apartment they had rented in the city.

The phone was not used from the message, and their landlady found her possession – including a mobile phone – left.

Officers also questioned the claims that the screams heard the river at a time when the two sisters disappeared there, it appeared.

It is understood that the sounds were heard in Aberdeen in the early hours of Tuesday 7 January, which could be alarming cries.

Sounds have caused concern and officials are trying to determine if there is a relationship with Eliza and Henriett.

But the detectives do not think that someone is involved in their disappearance and does not treat him as suspicious.

One resident said, “Everyone talks about this. These were pretty scary things.

“The woman who screams in the darkness will lift some red flags.”

They also did not tell their family to leave their apartment. They planned to move out “immediately” and they had to move out for days before their disappearance.

Their brother József told BBC everything seemed normal during a 40-minute phone call with them, but never mentioned the fact that they were leaving their apartment.

He said, “We don’t understand this whole thing.

“That they wrote a message to their landlady, that they wanted to immediately end the tenant’s rental agreement. We had no information about it.

“So it’s a strange thing that the girls didn’t tell us anything about it.”

He added that the siblings did not have financial difficulties and were saving to buy their own property.

‘Out of character’

Eliza and Henrietta were also shown to be seen walking in the same area that were last seen the day before they disappeared.

CCTV showed sisters, wearing backpacks, on the bridge at about 2.50am on Monday, January 6th.

Family members said the couple shows the behavior “out of character” on the night they disappeared.

Their triple Edita Huszti said she talked to them on New Year’s Eve and look good in the mood. She added that they were unusual to be outside in the early hours.
