Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo cemented their star status in ink.

The Wicked lead actresses showed off two matching tattoos on Instagram that seem to represent their time filming the film adaptation of the Broadway musical, in which Erivo, 36, plays Elphaba (the Green Witch) and Grande, 30, plays Glinda the Good Witch.

Tattoos – a poppy flower and the expression “for good” – are placed on the arm of every woman.

Poppy probably refers to the field of poppies in Wizard of Ozwhere Dorothy (Judy Garland) falls asleep on the way to the Wizard, and “For Good” is a line from Wicked the song of the same name — which is also an emotional duet between the show’s hosts.

And while stars are just now showing off their ink on social media, their “For Good” tattoos aren’t necessarily fresh. In an Instagram story, which Grande posted on Friday, the date of the tattoo was listed as last April. As for the poppy, shared by Erivo, it is not clear whether the floral design was added later or stamped on the same day in the spring.

Since accepting their Broadway roles for the film production, Grande and Erivo have praised their friendship. “The bond we’ve made is really special,” Erivo told Jimmy Fallon Tonight’s show. “Now he has a family member for life.”

Their connection extends to their vocal designs. “I don’t know if we realized that our voices would match so well,” she added. “Our voices are very, very different, but when we sing together, it just works.”

On the set WickedGrande also found love with costar Ethan Slater.

First Wicked The film is set to premiere in theaters in November 2024, with the second set to be released a year later.
