Jack Black and Kyle Gass channel their inner pop stars.
On Thursday, Tenacious D bandmates and longtime friends released a clip of their cover of Britney Spears’ 1998 hit “… Baby One More Time,” along with a video of the duo playing.
At the end of the clip, Black, 54, raises his fist, revealing the word “BABY” written across his fingers. He captioned the video on TikTok and Instagram, “Tenacious B! 🐼,” while on Xu (formerly known as Twitter), wrote the band“KEEP BELIEVING 🐼💥🐯.”
Emojis shared by Black and Gass, 63, have fans speculating that the song could be related to Black’s upcoming long-awaited animated sequel Kung Fu Panda 4.

Tenacious D Take a romantic walk on the beach in the hilarious ‘Wicked Game’ music video
Despite their own impressive discography, Tenacious D haven’t shied away from lending their rock-out style to covers of songs by Chris Isaak, Taylor Swift and others in the past.
During the spectacle Give Back-ular! event in Los Angeles in October 2023, held to support SAG-AFTRA members during the Hollywood strike, Black delivered an impromptu cover of Swiftina Midnight the song “Anti-Hero”.
In a fan post video from the event, the actor-musician-comedian stripped down to just his boxers as the crowd cheered. He then went up to an audience member and asked them where they were from, only getting “Los Angeles” as a hilarious response.
Soon after, Black performed a theatrical rendition of the chorus of “Anti-Hero,” while bouncing from side to side across the stage and spinning backwards when he reached the “It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me” lyric .
Swift’s fun cover follows Black’s hit song “Peaches” from Movie Super Mario Broswhich he suddenly performed during the Jonas Brothers concert in December 2023.

Jack Black confirmed that he will act Minecraft Film: “An actor prepares”
Black returns as the heroic Po in Kung Fu Panda 4more than eight years after its release Kung Fu Panda 3 2016. Between that film and the upcoming fourth installment, the actor also provided the voice of Po in the Kung Fu Panda: Dragon Knightwhich premiered on Netflix in 2022, and released its third season last September.
In the new sequel, Po is “determined to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace,” which “raises several obvious problems,” according to the synopsis. “First, Po knows as much about spiritual guidance as he does the paleo diet, and second, he must quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before he can assume his new exalted position.”
“In the process, Po will discover that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places,” the synopsis adds, partially touching on new characters voiced by Viola Davis and Awkwafina.
As for the project Black is most proud of in his career so far, he told PEOPLE in April 2023, “In a weird way, it could be Tenacious D in Pick of Destinybecause it’s the only film I’ve written.”
“He’s actually my real baby,” he added of the 2006 musical comedy in which he also starred alongside Gass, which featured many elements inspired by their real-life journey as a band. “Maybe not the best, but I’m the proudest.”
