Chef Eric Adjepong recently had to “save the day” while cooking alongside Selena Gomez.
The actress who hosts the Food Network series Selena + chef: at home for the holidays she was recently caught texting a “cute boyfriend” while cooking with guest chef Adjepong in the season finale.
During the episode, Gomez was caught texting her co-host, Raquelle Stevens.
“Sel, who are you texting?” asks Stevens, 30, and Gomez then tries to hide a smile as she shushes her friend.
“Look, it’s tough out there,” he added Just the murders in the building actress. But her co-host chirps, “I could probably guess who,” and Gomez quickly says, “Stop.”
That wasn’t the only time Gomez was caught in the act during the final episode. Towards the end of the episode, when Stevens asks chef Adjepong, 36, how their cake is doing, he confirms that they have a timer running — which Gomez was tasked with setting at the beginning of the episode.
But Gomez soon realized that she hadn’t set the timer.
A montage of the show pokes fun at Gomez’s banter and zooms in on her face as she realizes her mistake. As fun music plays over Gomez’s shocked face, the episode then plays a clip of her going to “set the timer.” The video then shows the actress getting distracted and sending a message to a “mysterious recipient”.
After Gomez’s little hiccup, Adjepong quickly went to check on the cake and declared, “It’s definitely time to take it out.” As he takes out the overbaked cake, he says to the host, “It’s actually okay. Um… it’s perfectly fine.”
As Gomez shares a look of deep concern, Stevens interjects, “He’s just being nice.”
“No no no. I actually like that it’s a little over,” Adjepong said. “I’m completely honest.”

The Golden Globe nominee, who recently went public with music producer Benjamin Joseph Levin (professionally known as Benny Blanco), joked about her new romance.
The latest episode wasn’t the first time Gomez opened up about her new romance. During the premiere episode with chef Alex Guarnaschelli, she said that cooking changed her mood, but that she also “fell in love with someone.”
“So I’m kind of very happy…” Gomez said. “But we’ll talk about that later.”

While admitting she was in love, she and Guarnaschelli joked that the gravy boats were something you’d get in a wedding registry. Gomez then gave a cheeky look to the camera and raised her hand, implying that she was not married.
In a later episode, Gomez reiterated to chef Claudette Zepeda that she’s not married, but that part of the reason she started Selena+cook is that “eventually, one day,” she wants to “slow down and have a family.”

Gomez’s revelations follow news that the musician has been in a relationship with Blanco for six months. The couple went public earlier this month after the “Come & Get It” hitmaker took to social media to make the big reveal.
