Selena Gomez Is ‘Super Happy and Present’ amid New Romance with Benny Blanco: Source (Exclusive)

A source told PEOPLE that the “Single Soon” singer, 31, is “super happy and present” amid her romance with Blanco, 35. “She seems like she’s really feeling good right now,” adds the insider Gomez, who has been candid about her ups and downs with confidence. The source adds, “Maybe it’s Benny or maybe it’s just where she’s at personally and professionally.”

Needless to say, “everyone is so happy she’s happy,” says the insider.

The source notes that people in Gomez’s circle are “protective” of the singer/actress.

“They were all her fans before Only murders [in the Building], and now everyone is protective of her. With her cast and crew, it feels like ‘every Selena boyfriend is our boyfriend,’ the insider continues.

On Wednesday night, Gomez and Blanco were spotted enjoying a date night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, sitting courtside as they watched the game between the LA Lakers and the Miami Heat.

Gomez and her producer boyfriend weren’t shy about their mutual affection, showing some PDA as they cuddled up and held hands.

Their recent outing comes shortly after Gomez posted a sweet photo of herself and the music producer on her Instagram Story last weekend.

In the picture, Just the murders in the building the star wore a dark oversized sweater and smiled for the camera as Blanco hugged her from behind, kissing her neck.

Gomez appeared to confirm her relationship with Blanco — who she has been dating for more than six months — in early December, when a fan account posted a black-and-white photo of her and the producer together. In the fan comments section of the post, which was also shared by popular account PopCrave, the “Fetish” artist added a message about Blanco and responded to fans’ comments.

“He is my absolute everything in my heart,” Gomez wrote, before replying to another fan saying: “Then why he was the best thing that ever happened to me. The end.”

Gomez alluded to her relationship status and the identity of her new man in early December when she responded to a since-deleted fan account’s Instagram post that included a picture of her and Blanco with the caption: “Selena Gomez seemingly confirms she’s in a relationship.”

She responded in the comments section of the post with a simple message, “Facts,” before sharing a black and white selfie on her Instagram Story that showed her leaning against what appeared to be Blanco’s chest.
