In Episode 9, Mr. Milchik (Tramell Tillman) informs Miss Huang that instead of ends up a quarter on the cut off the floor while she planned, she was to go to a new announcement in Svalbard at the end of the day and leave her parents and the house behind. That turn of the event and her “apologizing for Dylan” (Zach Cherry) to the audience “he finally sees a little empathy in her,” Bock says.

“When she discovers that she will be separated from her home and family, and she will be alone in Svalbard, I think you will finally see her as a truly child who is another victim in this human corporate system.”

The move gave Bock “the opportunity to dive into her more emotional side and humanize her a little more,” she says. “I was pleased with the things he did for her character, for sure … because I think of that episode, you still don’t see much of what she feels on the inside, which was fun [to explore]. ”

Bock told people earlier that “she didn’t even realize that I could have the opportunity to” secure Miss Huang’s role – especially because she thought her audition was “passing”.

Once she went to the set, these nerves returned – especially because she had to “really look at” her Kostara Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro and Cherry in some of the first scenes she filmed.

“That was kind of difficult for me because these were my icons. I remember at one point a scene with a ball game in which I have to stare at Adam for a long time, intensely, I physically started to shake at one point. I was like,” I can’t believe this, “but by the end of the shoot, it became the second nature and I just fought people left and right.”
