Following the release of the trailer on social media, fans reacted on Twitter and while many were excited about the show’s return, some were disappointed to learn that the fourth season would be the last. together. “Sadly it’s over but still very giddy for the final season of comedy and #SexEducation,” one person wrote.
“Sad this is the last one but I can’t wait for season 4!!! #SexEducation,” another tweeted. Meanwhile, a third commented: “Damn…! They’re coming back… The only thing that makes me sad is knowing this could be the last season of this September.”

While most of the cast will return for season four, some notable actors have announced their absence. Patricia Allison (Ola), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Simone Ashley (Olivia) and Rahkee Thakrar (Emily) have confirmed they will not appear in the final series.
Along with the premiere of the trailer, Sex Education creator Laurie Nunn also addressed the decision to end the series after four seasons. In a heartfelt letter to fans, she explained:
“Writing this is bittersweet, as we’ve decided that season four will also be the last in our series. It wasn’t an easy decision, but when it comes to themes and stories. of the newly recrystallized part, it was clear that this was the right time to graduate.
“We’re incredibly proud of Sex Education and are indebted to our outstanding writers, cast and crew, who put so much effort into creating each episode. They did. working tirelessly to bring you this final season and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
What is the fourth season of Sex Education about?
So what can fans expect from the new season? Netflix has also released a synopsis for season four. It read: “After Moordale High School closed, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier — their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about opening his new clinic. himself, while Eric prayed that they would no longer be losers, but Cavendish was a cultural shock to all Moordale students – they thought they had progressed, but this new college is another level.
