Shamas Nawab Siddiqui is an Indian film director. He is the brother of famous Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Shamas Nawab Siddiqui started working as a television director in 2005 and has since directed many television shows. In 2015, he directed the short film Sir, Tomorrow Comes (Miyan Kal Aana) produced by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The film is based on the Islamic practice of Nikah Halala. The film was later screened at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival as part of the Short Films Corner category.

On March 20, 2023, Nawazuddin Siddiqui filed a defamation suit against his estranged wife Anjana Pandey (Aaliya) and Shamas Siddiqui, seeking Rs 100 crore to compensate him for misleading claims made by them losses suffered as a result of the claim. However, the actor later sent a “draft settlement” to his wife. Shamas reportedly served as Nawazuddin’s manager from 2008 to 2020, during which time he was accused of defrauding and defrauding Nawazuddin. The actor claimed that he received legal notices from various government departments asking Shamas to pay outstanding dues of Rs 37 crore. He further alleged that Shamas and Anjana were blackmailing him with “cheap videos” and comments on social media. In response to Nawazuddin’s allegations, Shamas wrote a lengthy post on Twitter for Nawazuddin, challenging Nawazuddin’s defamation case and disclosing his other legal cases.

  • Shamas Nawab Siddiqui has attended film festivals in more than 35 countries for his film Miyan Kal Aana (2015). The film won 14 international awards and received 34 official nominations. In an interview, he spoke about this and said:

    I had the opportunity to participate in film festivals in 35 countries Mijan Kal Ana (his early short film, about “Triple Talaq”), I can never forget.

  • In an interview, he revealed how his elder brother Nawazuddin Siddiqui encouraged him to pursue a career in filmmaking. He revealed that after Nawazuddin read his notes, he jotted down the scene he imagined. He said,
