Shannen Doherty is ready to celebrate the new year.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 52, was joined by her mother, Rosa Doherty, on the Christmas episode of her podcast, Let’s be clear with Shannen Doherty.
“This year is just incredibly grateful that we are here and that we can spend time with people who are with us in good times and bad, who do not leave, who love us unconditionally and who have the same beliefs and morals and standards and people who have character” , Doherty said. “I’m so grateful to be here for that.”

“I even had to schedule my cancer infusions so that I would be fully recovered by Christmas,” Doherty continued.
The actress has been undergoing treatment for cancer for the past eight years.
Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 before revealing in February 2020 that she had been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. In June, she discovered that the cancer had spread to her brain. Then she operated on a tumor on her head.

“It’s been a turbulent year for me, some major health issues, major personal issues, a lot of heartbreak and fear,” the actress said during the podcast episode.
Around the time of Doherty’s surgery in January, she and her ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko, separated. Three months later, she announced her divorce from Iswarienko after she said he had been cheating on her for months.
During Monday’s Christmas episode of the podcast, The Enchanted alum continued, “But with all of that, I found … I was actually saying this to myself the other night: ‘Gosh, I think I’m actually starting to live the happiest version of myself.'”

“Although this has been such a contentious year for me,” added Doherty. “For some reason, it seems like it’s gotten a lot easier and a lot more positive lately.”
As the year draws to a close, the actress shared that 2023 is “ending well” and that her heart is “opening up again.”
While celebrating as the year ends, Doherty shared that she believes “next year is going to be beautiful.”
