Shannon Purser made her television debut as Barbara “Barb” Holland on Stranger Things. She seemed to be a key character in the first season of the Netflix series. She, however, was the first victim, dying in the second incident. Purser, however, created a fan following after she assembled for her revival for several seasons, but the actress has already moved on to other projects.
She then landed the role of Ethel Muggs on the CW’s Riverdale and made her cinematic debut in the fantasy horror film Wish Upon. She also appeared in the 2018 television series Final Space and the comedy Life of Party. That same year, she landed her first starring role in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, a comedy starring Noah Centine.

Fans praised Centine and Purser’s chemistry. They hoped it was like that in real life. There were even rumors that the two were dating. In an interview with Glamour, the actors talked more about how they met and preparing for their Netflix rom-com. Purser said she had no idea who Centineo was, so she gently stalked him and watched a few episodes of The Fosters with him.
Meanwhile, Centineo said he watched Stranger Things because Barb is his favorite character and stopped watching after she died. The pair first met in person for the Sierra Burgess screening before having lunch together at a cafe to get to know each other better. They talked about everything because they were trying to get to know each other quickly, almost like a “speed dating”.
They eventually became friends after connecting through their previous relationship. “What you see is what you get with him. I have the impression that, especially in Hollywood, you encounter individuals who have ulterior motives and want to get something out of you. “From the beginning, Noah was very kind and gentle,” Purser recalled.

Shannon Purser has come out as bisexual
Unfortunately, despite their followers adoring them, the couple did not date. Purser wants to keep his personal life private, and it is not known if he is dating anyone. In an April 2017 tweet on Twitter, the Riverdale actress admitted that she is bisexual. The post comes after fans slammed Riverdale for ‘queerbaiting’ the narrative.
“I don’t usually do that, but now seems like a good time to get personal.” I only recently revealed to my family and friends that I am bisexual. “It’s something I’m still digesting and trying to figure out, and I don’t like to talk about it,” Purser added. She later spoke to People about her choice to come out as bisexual. Despite not considering herself an ideal role model, she wanted to inspire young people and become someone they could look up to.
