Shaquille O’Neal, 51, met Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl on Sunday, just two days after O’Neal said Page six“I just want to shake the hand of greatness.”
“If I see Taylor Swift and I get to shake her hand, take a picture with her, I’ll be good,” the NBA legend, who retired in 2011, told the publication on Friday at Shaq’s Fun House Super Bowl party. “She is an amazing person. I’m happy for her. I’m proud of her. She did a lot. She is definitely a cultural icon.”
He got his wish as he found Swift, 34, who was at the game to cheer on her Kansas City Chiefs boyfriend Travis Kelce. The two posed for a photo Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

In his Instagram caption, O’Neal said he and Jamie Salter gifted Swift an NFL-themed bag to Judith Lieber. In her own Instagram post, Salter wrote: “I hope you love the @judithleiberny bag. Go KC”
Whether O’Neal’s dream of meeting Swift would actually come true was up in the air until Saturday, when his chances increased after Swift’s presence was confirmed to PEOPLE by Gracie Hunt, daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt.

After completing four consecutive Eras Tour shows in Tokyo from February 7th to February 10th, Swift returned to the United States in time for the Super Bowl. After the big game, Swift will travel to Australia for her seven shows in Melbourne and Sydney from February 16-26.

For Swift, who earlier this month won two Grammys for album of the year and best pop vocal album, this will be her 13th time attending a Chiefs game (13 being her favorite number). The Chiefs won nine of those games.
