Sharman Joshi is an Indian film actor, theater artist, theater director, producer and television host who played the role of Raju Rasto in the 2009 Hindi film 3 Idiots Raju Rastogi.

Sharman started his career as a theater artist and went on to perform in various plays in different languages including Gujarati, Hindi, English and Marathi. He mainly performed at Thakorbhai Desai Hall in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Some of his popular theater productions include “All the Best”, “Ame Layi Gaya, Tame Rahi Gaya” and “Main Aur Tum”. In addition to starring in plays, he has also directed some plays. In 2016, he made his theater director debut in the Hindi drama Main Aur Tum.

In 2017, he collaborated with a British company to produce the award-winning stage play The Play That Goes Wrong. Sharman said of the collaboration in an interview:
It just so happened that the producers of the show and I were looking for each other.them [the producers] Get to know me and my drama. I am excited to bring the show to India by the end of November. We will be rehearsing for four months and intend to do it in three languages: English, Gujarati and Marathi. This will be a never-before-seen show in Indian theatres. My manager is negotiating. I think some people’s egos were offended, and that comes down to the fact that I didn’t make the movie. Before that, I actually put in a request to still want to be a part of the film. I said negotiations were ongoing… and he was doing his best as my manager. He’s negotiating as hard as he can. But I say, it doesn’t need to come down to this. But I guess by then it’s too late and they have to continue to make choices that I understand and respect. “
