Vavra says she learned “tips and tricks” about beauty and fashion by watching top stylists and makeup artists on shoots.

“I like to pass on this knowledge to my customers, it makes my store unique,” shares Vavra, who opened her doors last year. “I also offer private appointments where customers can bring clothes from home to be styled by me.”

Film and style icon Sharon Stone, who worked with Vavra at Dior, is a fan of the style pro’s overall aesthetic, she tells PEOPLE. “Dianne has such great taste and is a lovely person. Going to her shop is like going to a party.”

“Even if it’s with your everyday jogging set,” she notes, suggesting that you “throw on some boots to elevate the day-to-dinner look.”

Another way to jazz up your daytime or cocktail look, says Vavra, is to “stack three or four rhinestone bracelets on each hand with a sweater, T-shirt, or dress.”

And carrying “a unique, one-of-a-kind vintage purse or clutch is always a conversation starter at any party.”

“Add a fancy vintage chain or long necklace to turn your basic clutch or wallet into a shoulder or cross body bag,” she says of her innovative upgrade.

Another unique pro tip is to “repurpose a vintage snuffbox into a business card bag. It adds a level of chicness and elegance when you’re handing someone a business card—especially when your fingers are decked out in cocktail rings.”

For extra points, “Always keep a vintage makeup case in your bag. Nothing says glamor more than applying lipstick or gloss while gazing into a bejeweled case.”

Then, round off your “easy chic” look by tying a “vintage glitter hair bow on your messy bun or pony” to enhance your new starlet vibes.

Once you’re ready to step out, “Throw on a stunning vintage coat over the look, whether it’s jeans or a cocktail dress for an elegant edge,” Vavra says of achieving an instant A-list look.

Emily in Paris star Kate Walsh, who shares a similar vision with her friend Vavra, tells PEOPLE that she has “always loved vintage” and “started collecting pieces in the 1980s” at vintage and secondhand stores in Tucson, Chicago and New York.

“Dianne has long had exquisite taste and exceptional style and I am so excited for this new chapter and treasure of VAVRA NYC!”
