Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor aka Shatrujeet Kapur was born on Friday, October 21, 1966 in Phagwara, Punjab, India (56 years old; as of 2022 Year). His zodiac sign is Libra. Later he moved to Jind, Haryana. From 1983 to 1988, he pursued Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra. He passed the UPSC examination in 1990 and underwent training as a 1990-batch Haryana cadre officer in the 44th RR batch of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad.
On September 16, 1991, he was appointed as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. Subsequently, he was appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Gurgaon and later as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Hisar. Later, he served as Additional Inspector General of Police in various cities including Kurukshetra, Sirsa and Hisar. He completed his training on December 6, 1994 and was appointed as District Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bhiwani, in 1995. Later, he served as Karnal Highway Patrol and Road Safety DSP. From 2001 to 2002, he served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo. From 2002 to 2008, he served as Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Wing of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). On January 1, 2003, he was promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG). He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) on April 2, 2007 and to the rank of Inspector General (IG) on December 14, 2009. Later, he served as Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Hisar and Rewari and Police Commissioner of Faridabad.
He was promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (ADGP) on January 1, 2015. In April 2016, he was appointed as the Chief of Criminal Investigation Group; however, on April 13, 2016, he was appointed as ADGP Crime due to protests by Jat Quota. He has served as Director of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited, Gurgaon Haryana Road Engineering Corporation and Saur Urja Nigam Haryana Limited.
He was promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) on April 20, 2021. On April 29, 2021, he was appointed as Director General of Prisons (DG-Prisons), Haryana and also held the additional charge of Chief Secretary (Traffic). On September 2, 2021, he was appointed Director General (DG) of the National Vigilance Directorate (Anti-Corruption Bureau). In February 2023, Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor was appointed to the post of DG/DG Eq level in the Centre. On August 16, 2023, he was appointed as the Director General of Police (DGP), Haryana for a term of at least 2 years. His pension (retirement) date is October 31, 2026.

In 2003, he purchased plot No. 780 P, Sector 42, Gurugram, Haryana, in the name of his wife under Haryana Government Employees Quota, measuring a canal worth Rs 87.56 lakh. In 2006, he purchased land worth Rs 1.05 million from Kot Shamir Police Welfare Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited in Kot Shamir village of Bathinda, Punjab. In 2011, he purchased a land worth Rs 39 lakh and a flat of 1,990 sq ft in the name of his wife under the Punjab Police Chief Consumers Cooperative Limited in Togan village, SAS Nagar, Punjab , worth Rs 60 lakh, the name is located at Capital Gateway, Sector – 111, Gurugram, Haryana.
