While we’re still not done with Endeavor coming to an end after nine seasons, we couldn’t be more excited to see Shaun Evans in his next project – and it’s awesome. The actor will star in Delia Balmer’s upcoming true-crime series, which tells the story of a woman whose life changes after she unwittingly gets into a relationship with a killer. Shaun will star opposite Anna Maxwell Martin in the new four-part ITV show. The story is based on Delia’s memoir, Living with a Serial Killer, in which Delia shared her brave story about her relationship with Sweeney. The nurse has been dating Sweeney since 1991, when he confessed to her that he killed his ex-girlfriend.

Discussing Delia’s story, Shaun said: “A story told fairly accurately through the lens of the victim, Delia. We have a great script from Nick Stevens and I couldn’t be happier to work with. with Anna.”
Her book synopsis reads: “He was caring at first, but in their relationship he became violent and controlling. He repeatedly took Delia hostage and tortured him. Terrible, he also confessed to killing his previous girlfriend.

“After a serious attack, Sweeney is released on bail, leaving her terrified when she learns that he will return to finish her off. After a frenzied attack that eventually puts Delia on the brink of death. , Sweeney escaped. Incredibly, it took the police six years to catch and convict Sweeney of multiple murders.”
Sweeney attacked Delia with an ax in 1994, but she survived the brutal attack. When police arrived, Sweeney fled the scene before being arrested for two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The 66-year-old is currently serving a life sentence for the murders of Melissa Halstead and Paula Fields and for conspiring to kill Delia.
The actor openly talked about the role
Talking about Delia’s story, World Productions Executive Producer Simon Heath said: “Delia’s story is a unique and powerful story about a woman who survived horrific violence by a man. never should have been free to commit her heinous crimes.. Delia’s story shines through the failures of the legal system to tackle men’s violence against women, and unfortunately , it still resonates to this day.”
The show’s screenwriter, Nick Stevens, added: “[She is] a survivor whose determination to pursue the good things in life—dance, travel, to live—finally triumphs over her demons.”

The project will be a big change for Shaun, who played Endeavor Morse for nine seasons on the hit show Endeavor. The actor openly talked about the end of the series, saying: “I feel extremely proud of Endeavor. Grateful for the experience and proud of the work.
