Shaun Rooney began his football career in the youth team of Bellshill Boys Club. He joined Dundee United’s youth team in 2010 and stayed until 2013. On 1 July 2013, he joined Scottish League Two club Queen’s Park, and on 27 July 2013, he made his club debut in a 1-2 loss to Ayr United. at Hampden Park.
