PEOPLE exclusively premiered the music video for “Bemba Colorá” in March. Estefan, who performed live with Cruz before her death at age 77 in 2003 and released “Tres Gotas De Agua Bendita” with her in 2000, spoke about recording a new cover with Sheila.
“Since I was given the honor to sing with the Queen herself, I jumped at the chance to sing one of her biggest hits,” Estefan said. “It was an instant ‘yes’ when my good friend Sheila E. invited me to be on her new salsa album Bailar with her and the amazing Mimy Succar in honor of Celia.”
The “Conga” artist added, “I had fun singing in that amazing band with Sheila on drums and percussion. Working with an amazing producer, Tony Succara, was a joy!”
