Sherri Shepherd Jokes About How She and Octavia Spencer Get Confused for One Another: Watch

Sherri Shepherd says she and Octavia Spencer are clearly one and the same!

During the visit The Sherri Shepherd Show earlier this week, the talk show host, 56, playfully joked about how she and the Oscar-winning actress, 53, often get mixed up.

Shepherd started the conversation by sharing a video of herself at the airport, in which she said she played with staff to make them believe she was Witches star.

“People tell me how much they love me Hidden figures and Help, [and] they think I’m Octavia Spencer,” she said. “And I can’t tell them I’m Sherri Shepard because they’re going to kick me out of the VIP lounge here at Delta for using your name to get in.”

Shepherd’s studio audience burst into laughter, just like the first one View star added, “I use the Octavia name all the time.”

Shepherd said it “goes both ways,” explaining that Spencer pretended to be her on different occasions as well.

Sharing a clip of the star on the ride, Spencer could be seen interacting with a fan who believed she was Shepherd.

“Watch my show, The Sherri Shepherd Show, every day?” Spencer playfully asked the restaurant worker in the clip, who replied, “Every day. That’s how I start my morning, you know?”

Spencer – continuing to pretend to be Shepherd – then thanked the fan for watching her show, as she exited the auto-thru route.

“I [told] Octavia, ‘I like it. If you get free food for a year, I want some,’ Shepherd joked to the studio audience.
