Shirtless Fan Runs on the Field and Is Tackled by Security During 2024 Super Bowl

The Chiefs and 49ers weren’t the only ones with problems in the 2024 Super Bowl.

During the 2024 Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday, a shirtless fan ran onto the field and was immediately removed by security.

Although footage of the incident did not air on CBS’ live broadcast, fans who attended the game captured photos and videos of the moment that surfaced on social media. According to clips captured by fans, the man — who was shirtless but wearing pants — ran across the Allegiant Stadium turf toward the 30-yard line and then toward the 10-yard line.

After the man reached about the 10-yard line, according to video taken by fans, he appeared to slide to the ground where about six police officers held him down and commanded him. The security team then quickly took him off the field.

It is currently unclear what the partial shooters’ intentions were.

Although the man ran onto the field midway through the third quarter, the players and referees paused only briefly as he was taken away by security.

Viewers watching the game reacted on social media, humorously referencing Jason Kelce’s shirtless emergency moment at the Kansas City Chiefs-Buffalo Bills playoff game and comparing it to Usher’s halftime performance, which included stripping the singer during his set.

Who has been the MVP of the last 10 Super Bowls?

Although the networks rarely pay attention to attackers who interrupt Super Bowl games, Sunday’s incident was not the first.

When the Chiefs faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2021 Super Bowl, a man in a hot pink one-piece swimsuit and black shorts ran down the field as players, including Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, watched in confusion.

“We’ve got a fan on the field,” commentator Jim Nantz said as the situation unfolded. “One of the great rides of the night, I’ll say that. They should be signed!”
