But after crawling back out of the window to escape, the board-fat son of the world-renowned chef grabbed his tracksuit bottoms and trousers – exposing his inked rear to security cameras.

Amused officers were able to immediately identify the 29-year-old drug addict because of his distinctive tattoos – and he was arrested the same day.

Jon Ison, 67, owner of The Abbey Deli told The Sun: “He broke in by smashing one of the front door windows with a champagne bottle.

“He stole £250 by using a spoon to open the cash register even though the keys were in plain sight. He also took a charity box from the counter.

“He probably thought he was in the clear, but when he crawled back out of the window, his tracksuit caught on the frame and he accidentally pointed his bare bottom right at our CCTV cameras.

“The police immediately knew who it was because of his tattoos – all they had to do was check the photos of his ink on his Instagram feed to confirm their suspicions.”

Marco Junior, from Corsham, Wiltshire, broke into the picturesque Grade II-listed courtyard cafe in Bath in the early hours of May 23.

The troubled convict, who has struggled with heroin addiction since he was 18, has a long criminal history, including shoplifting, knife and drug possession.

Officers quickly suspected his involvement in the cafe robbery and soon used pictures of his tattoos posted on his Instagram account to confirm they had the right man.

After a raid on a property in the city on the same day, Marco Junior was arrested.

The next day – on his 29th birthday – he pleaded guilty at Bristol Magistrates’ Court and was jailed for 41 weeks for burglary and “other offences”.

Jon added: “He’s been hanging out with the wrong crowd for years and we know he has a drug problem.

“This is the second time he has broken into our cafe – the first time was almost exactly a year ago when he stole around £650.

“The hilarious thing about this burglary is that we only knew it was him because his pants got caught around his ankles and we could see the tattoos on his ass.

“But the serious side of this burglary is that this type of theft is a huge inconvenience for businesses in the area.

“Not only has money been stolen, but there is a huge loss of business as we have been forced to close to carry out repairs.”
