Annabel’s children Molly and Ted said their “amazing” mum was tragically diagnosed with a brain tumor earlier this year.
They said her spirits were good as she underwent multiple intensive surgeries, and she kept her “quick wit” until the very end.
The family shared the devastating news on Annabel’s Instagram today, revealing that the I’m A Celeb star had passed away yesterday afternoon.
A heartbreaking statement from Molly and Ted read: “It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our amazing mother, Annabel Giles, who passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon at the Martlets Hospital in Hove.
“In July, mom was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, a fast-growing and very aggressive malignant brain tumor.
“In the four months that followed, she showed incredible resilience and strength, despite brain surgery and countless radiotherapy treatments.
“In her final weeks, she was passionate about raising glioblastoma awareness, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others.”
Annabel’s children said she was “truly one of a kind, an enigma to those who were privileged to share her life”.
Their statement continued: “True to her nature, she kept her spirits up and kept her wits to the very end.
“Her humor and laughter will inspire us to live life to the fullest, as she always did.”
The mother’s tragic latest social media post came just weeks before her cancer diagnosis.
She was the boy in the picture months before – bright with bright red hair.
Annabel was part of the 13th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here back in 2013, entering the jungle on day five.
She exited the show in 12th place after failing to impress the viewers at home, who voted her off the show.
In 2018, Annabel returned to TV when she took on a role in the ITV program Our Shirley Valentine Summer.
The mum, who was best known as the co-host of ITV’s Posh Frocks and New Trousers, has also appeared in Have I Got News For You, Through the Keyhole and Noel’s House Party.
The former guest on The Wright Stuff had one daughter with ex-husband and Ultravox singer Midge Ure, to whom she was married between 1985 and 1989.
Annabel also had a son, Ted, who was born in 1998.
The star, who was born in Pontypool, Wales, began her media career in the 1990s for ITV’s Razzmatazz and the Night Network.
She continued to pursue a career as a television and radio presenter, writer and model.
Earlier this year, the mum opened up about having to sell her house after her mortgage tripled.
Annabel’s children have asked that all donations go to Martlets Hospice, adding: “We thank you for your love and support and kindly ask that you respect our privacy at this challenging time.
“In lieu of flowers or other gifts, we would appreciate donations to Martlets Hospice, whose exceptional care has been a great source of comfort during this journey.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Molly & Tedd x.”
