The row was said to have broken out after one OAP stole the last cake from a local bakery – to the fury of another man.

The fired-up pensioner can be seen holding his crutch in the air as he zooms towards the other man, causing him to jump out of the way and throw himself to the ground.

Oak Leigh, who says she watched the altercation unfold, claims the angry dough lover then began “lashing out” at other people.

She said: “They were arguing because he had eaten the last pastry from the bakery and then they bumped into him.

“He was making fun of a few people there.”

In the footage of the altercation, the scooter rider can be heard shouting as he spins around on crutches.

Then he moves down the street towards a man.

As the scooter approaches the pedestrian, he tries to fend off the driver – appearing to use his arms to push the man away.

But the driver continues and as the man tries to jump out of the way, he is forced to signal.

He then falls back towards the window and finally topples backwards and onto the ground.

People can then be seen rushing to help the man, who appears to be struggling to get up from the concrete.

The scooter driver then appears to swing his crutch in the air, while the pedestrian tries to walk away.

Devon and Cornwall Police were later able to identify the man involved.

They confiscated his mobile scooter.

Bideford Police said: “Bideford residents may have seen this somewhat unusual sight today.

“And while we are an equal opportunity employer, no, we currently have no plans to launch mobility scooter patrols.

“We attended an incident early today which resulted in us confiscating a scooter which one of our officers then had to take back to the station.

“We identified the owner, but everyone else had already left before we arrived.

“At this time, we have no victims that have come forward.”

“If you were involved in an incident and would like to report it to us, call 101 and quote the log number: 298 (12/12/23).”
