THIS is the shocking moment a mum pushing her baby in a pram narrowly avoided destruction when a car overturned and hit her path.

The video shows the horrific crash near a zebra crossing in Olton, Solihull, Birmingham, at 4pm on Sunday.

A mum was walking along Warwick Road with her daughter, believed to be two – when a speeding car veered off the road.

The car hit a lamppost before flipping onto the road right in front of the mum – who managed to pull the pram out of the way to safety.

As witnesses rushed to check on the driver, the mother was seen holding her child tightly before sitting on a chair outside the restaurant.

A shop worker who rushed to help after the accident told BirminghamLive: “The mum was in shock and her little girl was only about two years old.

“We think she had a broken leg. It was a terrible crash.”

The child and the driver were rushed to the hospital without life-threatening injuries, while the mother was treated at the scene.

An emergency service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.11pm on Saturday to a road traffic collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Warwick Road, Solihull. Two ambulances and a paramedic arrived at the scene.

“Upon arrival, we found a woman and a child who were pedestrians and a woman who was the driver of the car.

“The driver of the car and the child have been examined and are not life-threatening.

“The driver was treated by emergency personnel and both were taken to Heartlands Hospital for further assessment.

“The woman who was a pedestrian was examined and received minor injuries. She was treated by emergency personnel and did not require further treatment and was discharged at the scene.”

A police spokesman added: “We attended a collision on Warwick Road, Olton, Solihull, where a car had hit a light pole on a zebra crossing.

– Fortunately, no one was injured, and no arrests were made.
