“I’m the most confused and confused in my life,” says a TikTok user who shared her experience on social media
Social media is full of “what I ordered” vs. “what I got” memes where people share their biggest online purchase fails.
But a TikTok user named Bailey just won the award for the most epic “product did not match description” moment.
“Hi everyone, I made a TikTok account just so I can share what just happened to me, because I’m the most confused and confused in my life,” Bailey said in the TikTok video, which has gone viral with 818,000 views.
Bailey explained on TikTok how the situation unfolded after she received an email from Saks Fifth Avenue offering her 15% to 20% off an item.
She said she wanted to take advantage of the discount, so she ordered a Dolce & Gabbana ashtray for $225. “I don’t need to hear a verdict, that’s what I wanted and that’s what I chose,” she said about the expensive choice. [Editor’s note: It really is a beautiful ashtray.]
On January 28, the package was delivered. However, when he unwrapped Saks’ package – which was covered in cellophane – Bailey was terrified. Instead of her designer homeware, she got a can of Bumble Bee tuna. Yes, tuna.
In the video, Bailey shows the packaging in which the ashtray arrived: a black box with a white Dolce & Gabbana Casa logo. She explained that she had to cut the plastic wrap with a kitchen knife.
“This is the back, you can see it’s Mediterranean china, made in Italy, it’s supposed to be this blue and white ashtray,” she said. “However, when I opened it, um, this is what I found, a can of tuna, albacore tuna.”
“And there’s a ring in the shape of…but there’s nothing underneath, it’s just tuna,” she continued.

She added: “I don’t know if someone from the warehouse took it and replaced it and made some cellophane with a hair dryer, I don’t know, but this is the most fucking expensive can of tuna I’ve ever bought. ”

In a statement to PEOPLE, a Saks spokesperson said, “We take our customer experience very seriously. Across the retail industry, there has been an increase in online fraud, particularly related to returns. Luxury continues to be a target given its high prices, and as such we implemented more rigorous steps in our return process, including additional reviews and stronger authentication.
“Our highly automated delivery centers handle millions of deliveries every year, but it is unacceptable that even a small number of our customers have this experience. Regarding the Dolce & Gabbana ashtray, given the unusual nature of this situation, our team has carefully investigated and is is that the item originally shipped to the customer was a fraudulent return. Upon learning of the situation, our team placed a replacement order on behalf of the customer. We apologize for the inconvenience as this does not reflect the luxury shopping experience that Saks is known for.”

Since posting, more than 3,000 people have commented on TikTok to share their thoughts on the situation, which Bailey calls “Tuna-Gate.”
“A little suspicious,” one person replied. “Openable crack it’s empty out there girl you got yourself an ashtray,” said another comment.
“Never in a million years could I have predicted this,” someone else wrote.

Hoping to get to the bottom of the incident, Bailey reached out to Saks’ customer service via email, text and the website. She posted their responses on her TikTok feed.
“I received my package but it was the wrong item. It was a can of tuna. And it should have been a Dolce & Gabbana ashtray,” is one of her messages to the company.
“Hello! I’m really sorry this happened, I’ll be more than happy to help you with this,” Saks replied.
On February 2, Bailey took to TikTok again to share another update. In the video, she filmed herself opening another Saks package that arrived on her doorstep that day. “I’m afraid so right now,” she said, opening the box.
“It looks like the same box,” she added. “Here’s this, it’s not wrapped in plastic. I don’t know what that means.”
However, this time Bailey was relieved to see that there was an ashtray in the box. “Thank God!” she said.
