Shriya Sharma is a Bollywood actress who started her acting career as a children’s entertainer and gained fame for her role as Sneha Bajaj in StarPlus’ popular television series Kasautii Zindagii Kay (2004-2005) rise to fame.

Shriya Sharma was born on Wednesday, April 9, 1997, in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh (age 23; as of 2020). Shriya studied at Lokhandwala Foundation School (2003-2013), where she studied till class 10, and then she studied at RN Podar School CBSE, Mumbai (2013-2015) till class 12. Subsequently, she studied Bachelor of Legal Science and Bachelor of Laws at Pravin Gandhi College from 2015 to 2020.

Shriya started working as an actress at the age of four. Her first role was playing the role of Lord Krishna in Zee TV’s show “Kanhaiya” in 2001. Her most prominent role was playing young Sneha Bajaj in “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” for which she won many accolades.
In 2008, Shriya appeared on StarPlus’ game show “Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain” where she and four other students (Dheirya Sorecha, Anubhav Motilal, Siporna Ghosal and Milanjeet Singh) helped the contestants win Rs 5 crore bonus. The show is hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, who often fondly calls Shriya his “princess” on the show.
Shriya has also appeared in many other shows including Boogie Woogie, Carry on Shekhar and Gumrah. In 2015, she appeared in the show “The Story of Rabindranath Tagore” on EPIC channel.
As of 2020, Shriya has acted in 18 movies and multiple TV series. She has shot numerous commercials for brands such as Sunfeast Pasta, Whirlpool, Relaxo Shoes and Complan.

Shriya has primarily worked in South Indian films, and her directorial debuts were Jai Chiranjeeva (2005; Telugu), Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006; Tamil) and Soundarya (2007; Kannada). She has also been seen as a child artist in other South Indian films like “Robot”, “Raccha”, “Tuneega Tuneega” and “Dookudu”.
She made her debut as a female lead in the 2014 South Indian film Gayakudu directed by Kamal G. Shriya also played the female lead in the film Nirmala Convent (2016) alongside South Indian superstar Meka Srikanth’s son Roshan. Although the film was not well received by the audience, Shriya’s performance earned her a lot of positive responses.
Apart from South Indian films, Shriya has also acted in Bollywood films like Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji), Knock Out (with the late Paula (co-starring Hollywood actor Irrfan Khan) and the 2011 Bollywood film Chill Party.
After winning the National Film Award for her role as toothpaste in Cillar Party, she said in an interview,
I have worked as a child entertainer in nearly 15 films and many other television commercials in Tamil and Hindi over the past 13 years, but at one point, I was not sure if I really wanted to be an actor. But then, in 2012, I won a National Award for my role in Chillar Party and that changed my life forever. That’s when I realized I had the potential to be an actor. “
