Sikandar Raza is a Pakistani-born Zimbabwean cricketer who is known as an all-rounder. He has represented Zimbabwe in all formats of the game, namely Tests, ODIs and T20s. He also captained the Zimbabwe team and played many important innings, helping Zimbabwe win crucial matches.

Sikandar Raza Butt was born on Thursday, April 24, 1986, in Sialkot, Pakistan (age 36 years 2022). His zodiac sign is Taurus. He studied at the Pakistan Air Force boarding school in Lower Topa and wanted to become a fighter pilot. He was one of 60 students selected out of 10,000 students to become fighter pilots. After three and a half years studying there, he took his final physical exam and failed the lens opacification test, which is crucial for pilots flying at high altitudes. In 2002, his family moved to Zimbabwe; however, he moved to Scotland, UK, where he began studying for a Bachelor of Science degree. in Computer Science from Glasgow Caledonian University. In 2007, he moved to Zimbabwe and began playing cricket at an amateur level, where he discovered that his skills were better than he had expected. He graduated in 2009. In his 20s, he started playing cricket on the Zimbabwean domestic circuit and became widely popular. The electors took notice, too. However, his citizenship became an obstacle and he was subsequently granted Zimbabwean citizenship in 2011 so that he could play for the Zimbabwean national team. He has played in the Afghanistan Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League.

He made his debut against Pakistan on 3 September 2013 at Harare Sports Club Stadium and scored 60 points. He scored 60 points on his debut; however, he was dropped from the team for the remainder of the series after Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor came on. He has played against Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. His best performance came against Sri Lanka. In July 2017, he scored a highest score of 127 against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. His best bowling performance was 7 wickets and 113 runs against Sri Lanka in January 2020 at the Sports Club Stadium in Harare, Zimbabwe. He scored the highest score in a series, scoring 243 runs in the 2014 series against Bangladesh in Zimbabwe. In the 2019-20 series in Zimbabwe, he took the most wickets in the series, 11 wickets, against Sri Lanka.
ODI
He made his debut against Bangladesh on 3 May 2013 at the Queen’s Sports Club Stadium in Bulawayo and scored 3 points. He has played against all major ODI teams except England. The first highlight of his career was against Sri Lanka in 2017 when Zimbabwe won the series 3-2. He performed well in the last game, scoring 27 runs (not out) in the chase and taking 3 wickets for 21 runs. This was Zimbabwe’s first win over Sri Lanka in an ODI series and its first away victory in the five-match series. He scored 319 runs with 15 runs in the 2018 ODI World Cup qualifiers and was awarded the Player of the Tournament award. He expressed his displeasure when Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the 2019 ODI World Cup. In March 2020, he completed his 100th ODI match. He also helped the team win 3 games in the series against Bangladesh in August 2022 and scored 135 points (not out) and 117 points (not out) in 2 consecutive games.
T20I
He made his debut against Bangladesh on 13 May 2013 at the Queen’s Sports Club Stadium in Bulawayo and scored 14 points. He has played against all major teams. He performed well in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and led the team to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. In the last game against the Netherlands, he took 4 wickets and won the game with 8 points. He was awarded Man of the Match for his bowling performance. He also emerged as the best player in the 2022 T20 World Cup qualifiers. In 2022, he scored 136 runs and took 3 wickets to help Zimbabwe qualify for the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup in Australia. In the first match of the 2022 T20 World Cup, he scored a personal-high score of 82 runs off 48 balls against Ireland, helping his team win the match.

In a T20 match against Namibia in 2016, he was dismissed LBW in the 16th over. He showed his bat to the umpire and used abusive language as he walked to the locker room to express his dissatisfaction with the decision, which he used again as he entered the locker room. He was fined 50% of the match fee and deducted 2 points for breaching the ICC Level 1 Code of Conduct.
Injuried
In April 2021, Sikandar developed pain in his right arm, which was later found to be a bone marrow infection. It was suspected that he might have cancer; however, reports were negative. He returned to action in July 2021.
