Silent Servant’s full name was John Juan Mendez who was born on August 14, 1977. He was an American techno DJ and music producer. Silent grew up in Los Angeles listening to The Smiths, The Cure, New Order, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth.
He started DJing at the age of 16, and in 1999 he got in touch with the founder of Downwards Records from Birmingham. He became a member of Regis’ Sandwell District collective. He released so many singles with Regis’ Sandwell District throughout the 2000s. He also acted as artistic director of Sandwell District.
