Simone Biles reflects on her historic performance at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships.
The gymnast β who won her sixth gold at the world all-around championships on Friday β posted a series of photos on Instagram on Saturday of her and her team’s reaction to winning the championships in Belgium.
“Team final π€ it was an interesting and unexpected evening!” Biles, 26, wrote in her caption. “I’m so proud of the fight that Team USA put on πΊπΈ It’s a real pleasure to represent the USA at another World Cup!”
“Also go to the WCC β€οΈ,” the gold medalist added, referring to her gymnastics academy, the World Center of Champions.

In the first photo, Biles stood with her mouth open and her hands raised to her face while surrounded by the rest of the gymnastics team. Former Olympic gymnast and WCC coach Cecile Canqueteau-Landi was also caught with her arm shot in the air as she cheered in the background.
Biles went into a group hug with her teammates in another photo, then proceeded to hug Team USA members Joscelyn Roberson, Zoe Miller and Canqueteau-Landi as they soaked up their victory in the final photo.

“You are incredible! π€© thanks for the guidance! β₯οΈ,β added Team USA gymnast Leanne Wong.
Biles secured the gold victory for Team USA in the final in Belgium on Wednesday.

Simone Biles secures gold for Team USA at the 2023 World Championships, rewriting history
Earlier this week, Biles sealed the victory for Team USA at the 2023 World Gymnastics Championships with her final floor routine, as she won by more than two points over Brazil, scoring 167.729.
Biles then reached record-breaking status on Friday after winning her sixth all-around world championship medal with a score of 58.399 points, securing the title for the most medals won in gymnastics in the sport’s history. (Biles was previously tied with Belarusian gymnast Vitaly Scherba, who competed in the 1990s, with 33 medals.)
The gymnast won her record 34th medal on Friday.

The gymnast shared her reaction to her gold after the competition was broadcast.
“I was emotional because it was my first worlds here, 10 years ago, and now it’s my sixth, so it’s crazy,” Biles said. “But I swear, I’ve got something in my eye that’s been bothering me for four years and hours and I can’t get it out.”
