Simranjeet was part of the Indian team that participated in the 2018-19 Men’s FIH Series Finals in Bhubaneswar, India. In this tournament, India faced South Africa in the final and won the gold medal.

In the tournament, India finished fourth in the medal match against England after losing the bronze medal. Simranpreet began his journey as a professional hockey player with the Indian team in the 2014 Johor Sultan Cup, which the Indian team defeated England 2-1 to win the championship. He subsequently participated in the 2015 Breda Invitational U21 tournament with the Indian team and the 2016 Four Nations Invitational Tournament (Valencia): Junior Men’s tournament. India reached the final but lost 3-1 to Australia and won the silver medal. He also played for Punjab Sindh Bank and Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB). He made a total of 52 appearances for India. He is also a member of Rachi Rays, one of the teams in Hockey India League (HIL). In HIL 2017, he was named Goal of the Match by Coal India and was awarded Rs. 50,000.
