Sinbad Returns to Instagram After First Public Appearance Since 2020 Stroke, Tells Fans ‘Miracles Happen’

In his first Instagram post since 2022, the 67-year-old comedian reflected on the overwhelmingly positive response to his first public appearance since his stroke in 2020.

On February 29, he joined the other members A different world cast via Zoom for the first stop on a 10-city tour of historically black colleges and universities at the Atlanta University Center in Atlanta.

“Thank you for your prayers, support and positive thoughts. They brought me this far and they will see me to the finish line. It really is a different world here!” he captioned an Instagram Reel posted Monday.

In the video, the legendary comedian, born David Adkins, sat in a chair while watching a video of the event.

“Man, that was so cool,” he said, looking into the camera as the crowd erupted in applause.

“It’s beautiful,” the actor said of the footage showing the packed auditorium students watching it on the big screen.

Sinbad told his fans that he was surprised that college students knew who he was.

Sinbad suffered a stroke in October 2020, his family confirmed a few weeks later. In November 2022, his family shared an update on Instagram and his website, explaining that the stroke was caused after a blood clot traveled from his heart to his brain.
