Janelle Brown is dismissing her sister’s wife Christine’s opinion about her split with Kody Brown.
During the 2nd part Sister wives answer special, Christine shared how her life has changed since ending her marriage to Kody in November 2021 and encouraged Janelle, 54, to find a new path following her split with the family patriarch.
“From the day I asked him not to stay there anymore, I took my life back and I got it back and I became stronger that day…,” explained Christine, 51. “I’m not saying that Janelle has to follow the same path and she has [a] a completely different situation than mine, but she needs to know that on the other side it’s OK.”

Despite Christine’s good intentions, Janelle felt her assessment was unfair, noting in an interview, “I’m frustrated by this story that Christine keeps talking about. I’m fine. I a.m separated from Kody.”
She explained, “Kody and I are not going to be together anymore, and she’s acting like I’m sitting here and I need encouragement to leave, she needs to show me that it’s okay — and that’s stupid— because I have left. I have three children who still live in Flagstaff. So why don’t I stay here? I like Flagstaff. I have three children here.”
She continued, “Just because I can’t move out now because all the assets are mixed up — I can’t take my share of our property and go somewhere — and the fact that I’m not going out and trying to move out of state, it’s like I’m not sitting here and I need to be told that I have the power to leave. I left, I just didn’t move.”

Reflecting on how “happy” Kody currently is with fourth wife Robyn Brown, Janelle said it’s “OK” that they’re moving on, adding, “Maybe one day I’d like to find the same thing. But not right now.”
Despite Kody’s civilized former dynamic with Janelle, he and his first ex-wife, Christine, were unable to stay fully in love with each other after their split. (Christine was the first of Kody’s four wives to leave him, causing a domino effect that resulted in him ending his relationship with Janelle and Meri within 14 months.)
Joined by now-husband David Woolley, Christine said she couldn’t be who she was with Kody because he “just wanted me to be positive” and “just wanted me to be fun”. She also claimed that Kody “only likes the fun little bubbly part of me” and that she’s “not going to bang him anymore,” especially now that she’s found happiness with David.
