Sister Wives Kids Go on Record That They ‘Would Never Want’ to Be Polygamous: Nobody ‘Deserves’ the Drama

Now that Christine Brown is happy in her new monogamous marriage to David Woolley, her children with ex Kody Brown are sharing their honest opinions about polygamy.

During the second part of her wedding on Sunday night, Sister wives The alum’s daughters Mykelti and Ysabel have admitted they would never want to be in a polygamous relationship after their parents’ marriage broke up.

“Honestly, in Las Vegas, my opinion about polygamy really started to change,” Mykelti admitted of her mother. “Her last year with David was amazing. It was everything my mum deserved, everything she ever wanted and so it’s obvious something was wrong from the start if it’s so perfect now.”

The 27-year-old admitted she believes “polygamy is a terrible idea” despite the “absolute blessing” of being “raised in the family I was”.

“Honestly, I loved having all my siblings, mom, dad, but I don’t think it was fair to my parents,” Mykelti explained. “None of them got what they needed from their marriage, I mean I’ve only been married for seven years, but I know what I deserve, I know what my mom and dad deserve, and I don’t think polygamy is what everyone deserves. Honestly, it’s just mine, it’s just me.”

Ysabel, 20, agreed with her older sister’s sentiments and said she would “never want to live in polygamy,” although she believes Christine and Kody “had a really nice life” despite the divorce.

“But I’m really thankful that I grew up in a polygamous household because I love having so many brothers and sisters, it’s amazing and so many moms. It’s really fun, but I don’t think I would want that for my kids,” she added.

Within 14 months, three of Kody’s wives had left their polygamous marriage. Christine was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later, in December 2022, it was revealed that he had divorced his second wife, Janelle Brown. A month after that, his union with first wife Meri Brown was confirmed in January after their relationship was platonic and distant for years.

Robyn Brown is his only remaining wife.

Mykelti and Ysabel are not the only children who had doubts about polygamy.

“I think polygamy is a lifestyle enhancement for those who want it, who believe in it and want everything that comes with it,” Gabriel, Janella and Kody’s son noted, while his sister Savannah added, “Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever manage to do.”
