Mary and Kody’s marriage ended after 32 years when Kody left the relationship.

At the time, Meri explained how she knew her marriage was over: “You know, our first anniversary that we had here in Flagstaff, it was the joy of a new beginning, unlike this last anniversary where he says, ‘I even I don’t know why you called me Meri.’ He says, ‘We’re not married. We’re not acting married.'”

She continued: “I said to him, ‘Then if we’re here, don’t you think we should say it publicly?’ And he said, ‘No, I don’t want to deal with it. I don’t want it to be public because I don’t want that verdict.'”

However, the two decided to go public about their split in a statement via Mera’s Instagram in January. In it, the owner of the bed and breakfast noted at the time that she had “no animosity toward Kody.”

Mary’s marriage is not the only one Sister wives split in recent years — Christine Brown, 51, was the first to leave her polygamous union with Kody in November 2021. (She met David Woolley, 59, in 2022 and married him last month.) And Janelle Brown revealed during last years One on one episode that she and Kody ended their marriage.
