Sister Wives: Meri Completes Kody's 'List' of Things to Work on to Save Their Marriage, Only for Him to Say He's 'Done'

Meri Brown continues to shed light on the breakdown of her longtime marriage to Kody Brown.

During Sunday’s November 17 episode Sister wivesMeri was about to leave Flagstaff, Arizona for Utah, where her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, is located. Of course, the big move — and her upcoming conversation with Kody, 55, and his remaining wife, Robyn Brown about the matter — have prompted her to reflect on the rough spots in her 32-year marriage.

Speaking to best friend Jenn Sullivan and her wife, Meri, who was busy painting the interior of their bed and breakfast, she revealed that Kody “has asked me to do a lot of things over the years.”

“He’s like, ‘Can you do it? And then, we can work on the relationship,'” Meri, 53, recalled.

“He was asking me for some specific things. He had a list of things he wanted me to do so we could work on our marriage. And when I finished that list, it was done [with me],” Meri continued in the independent confessional. “Now I understand that he was like that, I can’t ask anything else. There’s nothing else I can use as an excuse for not working on this marriage with her because I’ve done everything he asked of me.”

Now that Meri was officially single after being granted a divorce from her polygamous marriage through their church, her friend Jenn wanted to help her get back there. But Meri “didn’t want to go out” because “she’s been single for about a month.”

“Or, 10 years,” Jenn pointed out, referring to the platonic nature of the exes’ relationship in the past decade due to her catfishing scandal, during which Meri discovered that a male suitor she connected with online was a fan.

Elsewhere in the episode, Meri stopped by Kody and Robyn’s home to inform the couple (and their children) of her plans to postpone her move to Utah by a few weeks, prompting Kody to question her reasons for doing so. She then enlisted Kody’s help to help her with the move, jokingly calling it her “severance pay” since she didn’t receive alimony when they legally divorced in 2014.

As for how she feels about moving away, Meri said, “Good.”

“I think I’m ready to control my limbo country, and this I control.”

Still, despite Kody’s belief that the move will be “good” for his ex-wife as he’s no longer interested in a romantic relationship with her, the Brown family patriarch admitted he’s “a little sad” about Meri’s move because it’s “kind of like the end of an era. ” On her true feelings on the matter, Robyn revealed that Kody was quite emotional about the big change.

“It’s weird because I can see that Kody is sad and he’s gotten emotional a few times about it, but this is what he chose,” Robyn, 45, said in the confessional.

“There are so many mixed emotions,” Kody told the cameras separately. “It would be good if Meri moved. It’s a start. I have a little nostalgia in my heart and it’s a little broken.”

Just how broken Kody felt before Mera’s big move is evident in the teaser for next week’s episode. The clip showed the former couple in high spirits as they cleaned out Meri’s home in Flagstaff, with Kody even calling Meri his “favorite ex-wife.” But it all came crashing down because Kody was in tears over losing Meri.

We had something special, Kody said.
