Sister Wives' Meri Unveils New Carriage House After Kody Split: 'Happy About the Life That I'm Creating'

Meri Brown marks big changes in her life and a new space just for her!

In Sunday’s episode on November 3 Sister wivesBrown, 53, celebrated her birthday and two close friends – interior designer Blair Struble and her best friend Jenn Sullivan, who was the “contractor” of the project – gave her a freshly renovated carriage.

Although the space was used as “storage” prior to the update, Meri explained that she hoped the two-story platform could be transformed into a workspace from which she could run her online clothing business, as well as a workout space with an upper gym station.

“It was a cement floor and just basic walls. Like, they weren’t even painted. And I can’t wait to see that,” Brown said in the episode. “I have some high expectations for this. I’ve seen some of the work Blair does. I’m so excited to see this.”

The birthday gift came shortly after her multiple relationship with ex-husband Kody Brown ended in January 2023 after 32 years of marriage and 35 years together. Although the couple had been legally divorced since 2014, she revealed in another October episode that she finally took steps to end their marriage through their church.

As she entered her new home in the carriage, Meri declared that the space was “completely transformed” and “really beautiful”, as she crouched, devastated, with her hands on her knees.

The completely remodeled downstairs featured a new walk-in closet, a desk and chair, a marble center island, and a poignant nod to her late mother.

“This is the most amazing transformation. I can’t stop looking at all these things, all the details, all the things he hung on the wall,” said Meri. “But one of the best parts of it is the worktop. I’m dying. It’s amazing, amazing.”

After her mother died, Meri said her family had her mother’s shirts made in memory of the bears, one of which now sits above the lower level of the carriage house on a shelf. It “keeps my mom close,” she said.

As for her marriage to Kody, Meri told the cameras that it’s “no secret” that the couple had their problems, and since then she’s been “doing pretty much everything in her life on her own.”

“I was very independent,” she said. “I was very confident in what I was doing. It’s something I had to kind of grow into. Bringing this home back into the family was really a big part of it.”

“I’m officially single and it’s been really weird to think about it. I’m not ready to look for relationships. It’s so new right now, like I’m not ready for it,” she said.
