SKY SPORTS chiefs have asked fellow pundit Roy Keane to help investigate the former Ireland midfielder’s altercation with a fan.
Keane was on post-match duty on the pitch following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich when he was verbally assaulted by a home fan.

Keane’s fellow experts were asked for their accounts of the incident
The former Portman Road boss, who managed the Suffolk side for two seasons, was angered by the comments and was caught on camera telling his verbal attacker “I’ll wait for you in the car park”.
Ipswich security staff then intervened to take the fan away.
Yesterday, Ipswich fan Neil Finbow claimed on social media that he was the subject of Keane’s wrath.
On his Facebook account, Finbow wrote: “New claim to fame – Roy Keane just offered him in the car park after a few choice words.
“Even Jamie Redknapp had to come to take him – it’s your average Sunday night out.”
Responding to the comment, he then allegedly wrote: “I reminded him that he set us back five years and destroyed our football club. I also mentioned how he was not fit to step anywhere near our field [Portman Road].
“Oh, and I mentioned how he went to the World Cup and broke Haaland’s leg and put it in his autobiography.
“I hate the guy, and it’s been simmering since he got fired all those years ago.”

Finbow went on to write in a follow-up comment: “The truth hurts my friend. It makes me sick to look at it.”
He said Keane was arguing with another fan and his comment about parking may have been taken out of context.
He told the Daily Mail: “The whole row came out of the issue with his kids. The issue with the fans was about getting autographs in the days when he was manager here. The guy was actually saying that Roy Keane reigns in fear.
“You could see him pointing to the parking lot because that’s where the autographs were being signed, and that’s where he had his problem with Roy all those years ago. So it makes sense that they were pointing there.”
He added: “What Roy said could have been misinterpreted. Maybe he wanted to talk in the car park because that’s where it all happened.
“It’s hard to say. But yeah, he could have meant ‘We’ll talk to you in the parking lot,’ but it seemed like he was asking him out [for a fight].”

It was the second incident involving Keane and fans in 15 months.
In June, Arsenal fan Scott Law was handed a three-year ban by magistrates and ordered to pay £764 after punching Keane following a row in the Emirates Stadium lounge following the Gunners’ win over United in September.
Sky Sports bosses have now asked Keane’s colleagues on duty – Redknapp, Izzy Christensen and presenter Kelly Cates – as well as on-call production staff to give their accounts of the incident so the full picture can be given.
At this stage, however, Sun Sport understands that no further action is expected until there have been internal discussions about Keane receiving additional security support in the future.
Amorim needs a LOT of time in training to fix Man Utd… unfortunately he won’t get it, writes Charlie Wyett
At least in theory, the only way is for Manchester United, writes Charlie Wyett.
We’re almost a third of the way through this Premier League season and it’s still stunning to see United lurking in 12th place.
They achieved only four victories with a goal difference of 0. Only Everton, Crystal Palace and Southampton scored less.
It’s certainly not a false position and the point in Ipswich illustrated the huge task facing Ruben Amorim.
United fans chanted the name of their new manager throughout the match.
They also gave the players a standing ovation after the final whistle and while this was an improvement on some of this season’s performances, the bar was set pretty low.
Optimistic fans of the club will see their team just six points away from the top four. Ultimately, though, it’s hard to see United even reaching last season’s eighth-placed finish as they look worse.
United’s patchy defense will improve – and a three-man formation at the back will help them – but you have to wonder where the goals will come from. Marcus Rashford scored after 81 seconds before missing the rest of his 68 minutes on the pitch.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee were also introduced in that double substitution midway through the second half, but added absolutely nothing. They proved to be a terrible pair of signings and United fans would swap them both for Ipswich’s Liam Delap.
Amorim did not celebrate Rashford’s goal and walked around his technical area throughout looking uncomfortable.
Every time there was a break in the game, he called out to the players for instructions.
Alejandro Garnacho went to the touchline on several occasions, and there were also talks about Diogo Dalot, Casemiro and Jonny Evans.
Amorim, a manager with infectious enthusiasm, will be hoping to get his message across to all the players over the next few weeks.
But the problem for the Portuguese manager is that this was the first of 10 games in the space of 33 days.
What he really needs are spells in training without a midweek game, but he doesn’t have that luxury.
