Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort Is Engaged: ‘There Is No One I’d Rather Do Life With’

Laura Vandervoort is entering holy matrimony!

The Smallville actress, who stars in the upcoming Hallmark Channel holiday movie Miracle in Bethlehem, PAshe is engaged to Adam Coates.

“Well… we have some news!!” Vandervoort, 39, started with an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“My birthday last week became more than a celebration of another trip around the sun… it became a celebration of our eternity!!!!!!! 💍 🥹 🥂,” she continued.

The cover photo of her social media post shows her and her new fiance smiling as they embrace in a sweet sunset kiss. Vandervoort’s ring is on full display as she passionately holds Coates’ face.

“There is no one I would rather live my life with. I love you @adamcoates4 Thank you for choosing me to keep,” the Ted talent wrote.

Vandervoort hinted that the marriage proposal with “30 friends and family” came as a complete surprise.

“I don’t know how you got all that from me (seriously, how did you plan it all without me noticing!?), but it was perfect,” she said.

Another picture shows the moment Coates got down on one knee to pop the question. The photo that followed documented Vandervoort jumping into his arms.

Other adorable pictures showed the pair laughing at each other, then sitting together to capture the moment afterwards.

“Thank you to the friends and family who somehow kept it a secret and made it possible to have such a wonderful homecoming,” said the blushing bride-to-be about the carefully planned plan.

The final photo in the gallery shows Vandervoort and Coates kissing, this time in the large kitchen as their family and friends gathered to toast the special occasion.

After the first post, she uploaded a second Instagram carousel of more sweet moments from the day with the caption, “Forever. 💍🥂💍.”

“Congratulations! Right now I’m sitting next to you in church on set talking about how I congratulate you❤️,” said actor Benjamin Ayres in the comments on the post.

Vandervoot and Ayres star Miracle in Bethlehem, PA. She plays Mary Ann Brubeck, a woman who adopts a little girl she’s raising on her own just before Christmas, according to the Hallmark Channel synopsis.

Before sharing news of the proposal, Vandervoort posted several photos with Miracle in Bethlehem, PA a set taken by Ayers on Wednesday.

On the pictures, jigsaw the actress was dressed for the cooler temperatures as she held an insulated mug.

“When that first day of fall comes and you’re leaning in a lot 🍃 🍁 But you’re also smiling because you have a secret you can’t wait to share 🫣,” she captioned the pictures.

Miracle in Bethlehem, PA airs December 21 on the Hallmark Channel.
