The Duke of Sussex was pictured arriving at London Heathrow at 1.30pm today – just 26 hours after landing at 12.30pm on Tuesday.

It is understood to have taken off shortly after 3pm – and is due to land in Los Angeles in the early hours of the morning.

Airport security vehicles and police cars were on standby as he was brought to the VIP Windsor Suite at Terminal 5 in a black Land Rover Discovery.

Harry, 39, wore a jacket, T-shirt and jeans as he greeted the British Airways lounge attendant wearing a top hat.

His bodyguards were seen removing bags from the car ahead of Royal’s expected 10-and-a-half-hour flight to Los Angeles.

Harry is believed to have stayed in a hotel rather than a royal palace last night after meeting King Charles briefly.

Meanwhile, he is said to be open to a reunion with William, 41, but his brother had no plans to see him.

It comes after King, 75, was seen in public for the first time since being diagnosed with cancer on Tuesday as he left Clarence House a day after starting treatment.

Harry arrived in London from California on Tuesday afternoon after Buckingham Palace informed the nation of the king’s health.

The meeting of the couple, without the Duchess of Sussex and their children, raised hopes that they will reconcile despite their troubled relationship.

In an unusual move, Charles kept his helicopter waiting so he could meet Harry in person at his London home, Clarence House.

Sources say the king made the “significant” decision to postpone his travel plans following his son’s gesture to fly across the Atlantic at short notice.

Their meeting is thought to have lasted just over half an hour, with Harry and his entourage leaving Clarence House around 45 minutes after arriving.

It was the first time he and Charles had met privately since Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, although they had been in contact by phone.

Charles looked happy to be reunited as he was pictured for the first time since the palace announced his cancer diagnosis on Monday.

It was significant that he delayed his flight to Sandringham when he knew Harry had visited

He smiled beside Camilla in the back of a state Bentley as they waved to the crowds on the short journey between Clarence House and Buckingham Palace.

The King and Queen ended up departing the palace gardens in their helicopter an hour later than planned.

Palace sources say he will take time out from his country residences and return to London for meetings, business and outpatient cancer treatment.

An insider said: “Charles always has a busy schedule and had an itinerary planned to leave London to rest and recuperate in Norfolk.

How Charles bravely disclosed his diagnosis to help others

KING Charles has bravely broken royal protocol by sharing his cancer diagnosis.

The senior royals have been tight-lipped about their health battles in the past.

The last senior member of the royal family to be diagnosed with cancer was Charles’ grandfather George VI.

A heavy smoker, George had his left lung removed in September 1951 due to “structural abnormalities”, a few months before his death.

The “abnormalities” were actually life-threatening cancers, but the public never learned of George’s ordeal with cancer.

Buckingham Palace said Charles wanted to share his cancer diagnosis to encourage “public understanding” for cancer sufferers around the world.

“He’s very particular about timing, but it was significant that he delayed his flight to Sandringham when he knew Harry was visiting.”

The insider added: “After all, the Duke of Sussex flew in from California at short notice and accepted the gesture. There is reason to be optimistic.”

The Sun has learned there are no plans for Harry to spend time with the king at Sandringham.

It comes after the Prince of Wales returned to royal duties following his wife’s abdominal surgery.

Since the Princess of Wales underwent surgery, the Prince of Wales is understood to have combined being with his wife and children as he took time out from public engagements to support his family.

Although the Princess is recuperating at home in Windsor, this morning the Prince returned to public duties as he held an investiture at Windsor Castle to present awards to deserving people from the UK and abroad.

William has an unwavering commitment to duty and service, and the investiture is an important part of his royal role, celebrating people across the country who are doing amazing things for their communities.

Footage showed William smiling and joking as he handed out the gongs at the ceremony.

Former England Lioness Ellen White was among those recognised, speaking to William as he presented her with an MBE.
