Smokey Robinson Reveals He’s a Big Fan of Taylor Swift: ‘I Love Taylor, She’s a Great Person’

Smokey Robinson really likes Taylor Swift!

The music legend, 83, appeared on Wednesday’s episode The Jennifer Hudson Show, revealing to host Hudson that he has known Swift for many years and even brought his granddaughter to see her show.

“She’s a Swiftie, or whatever you call them, she’s one of them,” Robinson added. Hudson then asked, “Are you a Swiftie?”

“Well, I love Taylor. She’s a really nice person and with all the fame and stuff,” Robinson – who released his first studio album in nine years, GASES, earlier this year — he said. “But anyway, she’s a great person and I’ve known her for a long time, and my granddaughter is a Swiftie.”

He also explained that his granddaughter told him Swift was performing in Pittsburgh, so Robinson called the “Anti-Hero” star to ask if he could meet her.

“Pittsburgh is closed,” the soul singer said of the night Swift performed. “It was like the president was in town or something.”

“Taylor performed for three hours and 25 minutes, [my granddaughter and her friend] I never sat down,” the star continued. “And they knew every song and they screamed for about three hours.”

Beginning March 17, Swift performs her sold-out Eras Tour. The shows, which end in November 2024, have been visited by a number of celebrities, including Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid and Shawn Mendes.
