Snoop Dogg Takes Hilarious Private Tour of the Louvre During Paris Olympics: Watch

Snoop Dogg isn’t leaving the 2024 Paris Olympics just as a torch bearer and seasoned sports commentator. Now he might as well be an art historian in the making.

The “Gin and Juice” rapper, 52, took a tour of the Louvre for the official NBC Olympics and Paralympics TikTok account in a video posted on Friday, Aug. 2, and it went exactly as you’d expect from the hip-hop super — who made hilarious comments, called himself “Mona Lisa’s twin brother” and misidentified Cupid as a “lady”.

“Do you ever see Night in the museum? Well tonight, you can go to the museum with Snoop Dogg. And we’re gonna snoop around,” Snoop began the clip, before joining a tour guide to check out some of the iconic museum’s best art.

Snoop’s first stop on the tour was the “Mona Lisa,” a painting whose subject he claimed had a family connection. “I just found out I’m Mona Lisa’s twin brother, Tony Lisa,” Snoop said before analyzing the image further.

“Let me walk over here and see if you’re looking at me,” he said before moving to the opposite side of the Leonardo da Vinci artwork. “OK, I like that. It was hard. He smiles a lot when I’m standing on this side.”

As Snoop and the tour guide walked through the Louvre, Snoop then pointed out a piece of art and asked, “Is that someone’s severed head?”

The pair then approached the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and a museum employee asked the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper to guess which wing on the monument was “real” and which was “fake.” Snoop eventually answered correctly, which the museum guide celebrated with a “well done.”

Snoop’s next stop was Francois-Edouard Picot’s “Cupid and Psyche,” which he at first believed to be a painting of “two ladies” in bed. “That’s not a lady? That’s a man,” he asked a museum employee, who confirmed that he was staring at Cupid. “Cupid! I knew it was someone I knew.”

The last painting in Snoop’s Louvre tour was “Liberty Leads the People,” which briefly featured a “revolutionary cap.” When he found out, he joked, “she got what I got now.”

Snoop revealed to NBC sports reporter Mike Tirico, per The Washington Post, that he recalled when Muhammad Ali famously lit the Olympic cauldron during the 1996 Atlanta Games.

“It was emotional for all of us to see the champion holding that torch and walking up. This is my version of it,” Snoop said. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know this is special.”

“This says a lot about America in terms of where we are in this world,” he added. “At the same time, it says a lot about France in terms of connecting the dots and letting me do this. I view this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I wouldn’t even dream like this.”
