Sofia Richie Grainge has gone viral on TikTok again, but not because of her insanely expensive wardrobe or mommy lifestyle. This time she was praised for her sense of rhythm.
The 26-year-old’s dance moves became a hot topic after she was seen dancing effortlessly alongside her friend, influencer Jake Shane, in a TikTok video posted on November 28.
Although the clip is simple, showing the friends casually jamming to Lola Young’s “Messy” in front of a picturesque backdrop, it has attracted 19.2 million views and sparked a new popular dance inspired by Richie Grainge’s swagger.
Many people have used the app to perform their interpretation of what is now being called the “Sofia Richie Dance,” which consists of shoulder shimmies, hip sways, and an overall cool girl vibe.
Part of the reason why Richie Grainge’s so-called choreography took TikTok by storm is because her fans haven’t actually seen her dance. One comment below Shane’s video read: “She’s sooooo smooth with it.”
Others find a sense of calm in watching the model (whose parents are four-time Grammy winner Lionel Richie and dancer Diane Alexander) prance around in a chic ensemble and perfectly slicked back ponytail in the most carefree way.

Sofia Richie Grainge ‘hasn’t changed’ her style since becoming mum to daughter Eloise: ‘I’m super confident’
However, there is a side of the internet that is completely confused as to why the word “dance” is used to describe the star’s common movements that do not involve choreography compared to other viral forays such as the “Apple dance” in the summer of 2024.
After the video surfaced online, many people came back to him looking for answers. Simply put, people don’t understand what the fuss is about.
“Is this the dance everyone is talking about?” someone commented. “Is the dance in the room with us???” wrote another.
Richie Grainge has yet to comment on the topic, but we predict the dance will continue to be discussed (and copied!) throughout the holiday season.
In the meantime, she has settled into the life of a mother since welcoming her daughter Eloise with husband Elliot Grainge in May.
Richie Grainge recently collaborated with Amazon Essentials on a dream collection of baby and children’s clothing with pieces under $40.

As for her own style, the taster said British Vogue in November to rediscover what makes her happy in tailoring style.
“I’m slowly starting to get back into my clothes, so it’s made things a little different,” she told the paper about how motherhood has affected her fashion choices.
“But no, I’m not changing my style because I’m a mom. I’m super confident and I dress comfortably,” she continued. “If anything, my bag just feels a lot fuller.”
