Sofia Vergara has a positive outlook on her love life.
In the episode of May 31 Conversationthe Modern family alum, 51, revealed that she has given new meaning to a tattoo that was previously dedicated to her ex-husband Joe Manganiello. The two announced they were separating in July 2023 after seven years of marriage, and finalized their divorce last February.
The revelation happened when Vergara was called out by her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, also a guest on the show, for having two tattoos, while she jokingly accused him of having 34 of her own.

Vergara explained that she has initials inscribed on each of her wrists, one in honor of her late brother and the other, “J,” which she originally got for Manganiello. And she wasn’t shy about mentioning her ex by name.
“This was Joe Manganiello’s initials, but now he’s gone so…” Vergara said, and the recognition drew laughter, cheers and applause from the audience.
Then she admitted that the situation actually worked in her favor.
“How lucky can I be that he’s the guy I’m dating [with] he has the same initial,” she said, referring to her new boyfriend, orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman. Building on the sassy humor, she said she plans to simply “recycle” the tattoo.
Vergara and Saliman were first linked in October 2023, after which a source told PEOPLE that they Griselda the actress was “going out and having fun.”

While speaking with PEOPLE for her Beautiful Issue cover story, Vergara was coy about her new relationship. But she was much more direct when it came to revealing what she was looking for in love now.
“Health. Money. Fun. With kids. That’s it,” she said, though she added that she has no plans to have any more children of her own. (The actress was candid about the decision and how it became an issue in her relationship with Manganiella).
“There are things in life that might sound like good ideas but aren’t,” she explained. “I’ve been a mother before. I know what it means to be a good mother or to try to be the best mother you can, and it takes a lot of sacrifice, it takes a lot of energy.”
