Sofia Vergara Says She’s Not on Dating Apps, Is ‘Open to Having Fun’: ‘I Don’t Need a Husband, I Want One’

Sofia Vergara may be dating again, but she’s doing it the old-fashioned way!

Six months since she split from ex Joe Manganiello, Griselda star (who loves nothing more than “eating, shopping and talking sh—“) is opening up to the party, she revealed in a new interview with The Daily Mail.

When asked if she had been visiting dating apps since her breakup, which PEOPLE confirmed last July, Vergara, 51, said, “No, I would love to!”

“I’m bad with technology, so I’m sure I’d click on the wrong ones. I’m open to having fun and meeting people,” she continued, adding, “It’s only been six months.”

“It’s strange, because now I’ve lived longer in the United States than I did in my country [Colombia]. But I’m still very Latin. I exercise with Latin music. There is Latin music in my car. “My friends – my close friends – are either my relatives or those I met in kindergarten,” Vergara told the newspaper.

“Now I need a husband!” she added before clarifying, “No, I don’t need a husband, I want one.”

“It doesn’t even have to be the husband. Partner,” she continued.

In her Daily mail interview, the Modern family alum also opened up about her and Manganiello’s split, further confirming that they are not on the same page when it comes to expanding their family.

“Joe was four years younger than me and never had children,” said Fr magical mike star, 47.

Vergara, who has a son Manolo (32) with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez, continued: “He decided he wanted children, and I didn’t. It was like, ‘Imagine, when this kid is 10 years old, I’ll be 60-something. It’s grandma!’ ”

“I know the sacrifices you have to make to be a good mother. You must be present. My career is also important to me. I can’t disappear. A lot of people rely on me,” she continued.

But becoming a grandmother is another story, Vergara told the outlet. “I am 51 years old, my son is 32 years old. I’m ready to play with my grandson, and then when I’m done, it’s like, ‘Okay, take it. It’s yours!’” she said.

Vergara and Manganiello announced the news of their split last year, saying they had made the “difficult decision” to divorce after seven years of marriage.

“As two people who love and care for each other very much, we kindly ask that you respect our privacy at this time as we move through this new phase of our lives,” they wrote in a joint statement at the time.

Shortly after, Manganiello filed for divorce, citing July 2 as the separation date and citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE.

In the months following their split, the actor dated actress Caitlin O’Connor, while Vergara was photographed several times on dates with Justin Saliman, an orthopedist.
